The ’96 LSC has a 290-h.p. V-8, based bn the Mark VlH’s standard 280 h.p. engine.
The Mercury Tracer, basically identical to the Ford Escort, will be leaving the lineup after ‘96. Both models will get a new built -in child’s car seat and a “sport appearance” package with aluminum wheels this year.

Several new models debuted in ’95, including the Plymouth/Dodge Neon, Cirrus/Stratus, and Sebring/Avenger. Still new, these models have had various refinements and optional equipment additions for 1996.
