thing that does not yet exist, and added that he thought that the restriction requiring a family member to occupy the apartment for two years should apply.

The commission voted unanimously to forward the application for approval to the BZA, contingent upon Health Department approval and the understanding that the two-year restriction will apply.

• The last request was for the Burke family apartment.

William Burke, accompanied by his wife and father-in-law, spoke to the commission. They wish to place a trailer on their property in Round Hill, so that the father-in-law, whose wife died about a month ago, could live nearby.

The two dwellings would share a well, but have separate drain fields. The trailer also conforms to the 1200 square feet limit on new family apartments.

There was only one public comment. An adjoining property owner had no objection to one trailer, but was concerned that more people would move onto the property in time.

The commission notified her that the 1200 feet restriction would not allow that.

The commission voted unanimously to send the application to the BZA with a recommendation for approval contingent upon Health Department approval.

Other business

One other item was presented to the commission by Junk.

Local resident Ivan Ussach would like U.S. 522 in Rappahannock County to be designated as a scenic byway.

This will be added to the agenda for next month. Ussach is currently discussing the idea with VDOT.

The next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 19.
