Last year’s Marlborough winner, Symbol of Success was , expected to contest the May 1 Gold Cup, but, sadly, he was fatally injured racing in England earlier this year.
Next year, Goess-Saurau has big plans for the so-called Marlborough Million. He intends to connect not only his race with Great Meadow’s, but also to add in the Punchestown Cup from Ireland and the Grand Cros de Craon in France. A series of bonus prizes is offered to a horse winning from all four races ($1.65 million) down to completing all four ($7,500.) All four courses are quite different in length and obstacles.
