Public School Volunteer Coordinator

• Many thanks are extended to all of our Rappahannock County Public School volunteers who do so much, so unselfishly, to enhance the education of our students. I also wish to thank the members of the public school staff, and their “furry little friends”, who joined forces to sing a “very touching” love song to our volunteers in attendance at the Volunteer Recognition event last week. A variety of students under the guidance of Mrs. Joy Rollins, Mrs. Jenny Star Mrs. Lynne Fournier sang, danc instruments and acted as host es for the event.

• Cecilia Dennis, PTO Pr ^ RCES for several years, has given countless hours to plan, promote and carry out innumerable projects to benefit our students. • RCES PTO Giant counted, bundled; and submitted thar largely to the efforts of parent At! Bywaters who worked through the help us meet our deadline. Thanks to tf efforts of many of you in the community we were able to collect over $85,000 worth of receipts which will afford our school valuable and much needed* computer software.

• The RCES Beanie Baby Raffle is now underway. Tickets are being sold by several interested parents, as well as in the school lobby from 2:30-3:30 each afternoon. The deadline for ticket sales is May 13. If you are an RCES parent who would like to purchase or sell tickets, please contact Jan Makela at 987-8259, or stop by the school any afternoon. Many thanks to Attic Treasures in Sperryville for the very generous donation of Beanies for second and third prizes.
