April 30, 1909 — “The Horse Is King^ reported the Warrenton Review that week, telling a tale of exciting steeplechase racing in Warrenton attended by sportsmen and women from the region and beyond. “Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Attend Races from Baltimore” was subheaded in the copy.

Stewart daughter Ann is today a licensed National Steeplechase Association trainer; she conditioned Landslide Farm’s Ivory Poacher to win the 1993 Maryland Hunt Cup. She was previously married to 1979 Gold Cup winning trainerrider Charlie Fenwick Jr. Her sister Nina, formerly married to steeplechase trainer-rider Paddy Neilson, is the mother of 1998 champion NSA trainer Sanna Neilson, who rode Ivory Poacher in the *93 Hunt Cup. Everything in steeplechasing, it seems clear, is relative.
