StarFire Productions, the record label which is marketing and promoting Torgeson’s music, was started in November 1997 by Torgeson and his (then) fiancee’ Jean Falk, (now wife, Jean Elizabeth). Although a “bootstrap” operation, StarFire is enjoying heartening responses on par with much larger music labels while retaining the artistic and decision-making freedom or a small independent label. Says Elizabeth: “This is a highly competitive business. Radio programmers are flooded with albums to review, often receiving as many as 20 per day. I am amazed how effortless it is to get air play for Mark’s music. There’s really no selling involved. People love Mark’s music!”
