My wife and I own 144
acres in Rappahannock County. We are not foxhunters; in fact, we don’t own any horses.
I was an avid quail/grouse hunter back in the days when we had healthy populations of both those species, even kept bird dogs. We do enjoy watching the Old Dominion Hunt when it crosses our property, which supports a healthy fox population.
We have no real position on the question of whether or not to allow the general shooting or trapping of foxes in Rappahannock County, but we do feel very strongly that DGIF should not do anything to imperil fox hunting to the hounds.
