Come out to the annual United Methodist Women’s yard sale on Saturday, May 1 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The ladies will be offering bargains on a variety of household items, white elephant treasures, clothing and delicious baked goods. While you are browsing, you can enjoy a scrumptious luncheon.
Later that afternoon, the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company, Inc. will hold its annual auction on Saturday, May 1 beginning at 6 p.m. If you have items you would to donate and need them picked up, please call Paul Poling at 937-5205, J.B. Carter at 937-4218, Paul Payne at 937-4954, or Jack Atkins at 937-5282. All donations should be in good condition and appliances must work.
Lots of birthdays to mention. Happy birthday wishes go out to Erica Paetow, Derek Sylvain, and Lindsay Barnes who all celebrated their big day on Friday, April 23. Augustus “Gus” Traves Norris hit the big two on Monday. April 26.
A special thank you is sent to everyone who helped Emerald Hill Elementary School celebrate Earth Day with their donations. The students collected newspapers for recycling; donated pennies to “adopt” an eagle; purchased plants during the plant sale and the sixth graders planted a tree.
Tickets are available until May 13 for the Beanie Baby raffle/und raiser sponsored by the Rappahannock County Elementary School’s PTO. First prize will consist of 14 beanie bears, second prize will be three bears with two other beanies, and five mixed beanies will make up the third prize. Cost of the tickets $1 each, six for $5, or 25 for $20. For more information please contact the Rappahannock Elementary School. Your support is appreciated.
