For the past 22 years, Maryland sporting artist Barbara Oelke has documented on canvas scenes of equine and sporting life.

Oelke studied painting at George Washington University, where she received a masters of fine arts degree. During this time, Oelke was recognized with the David Lloyd Kreeger Award in painting for two consecutive years and was a finalist for the prestigious Prix de Rome competition.

Oelke’s work has been exhibited throughout the U.S., including shows at the National Arts Club and the Salmagundi Club in New York, the International Museum of the Horse in Lexington, Ky. and the Kentucky Derby Museum.
