In fact, Jeanne Pisano’s voice a remarkable four-octave range and she has been classed, in another west coast review, with Cleo Laine, Julie London, and Sarah Vaughan. Her compositions have been recorded by both the U.S. and European vocalists, including jazz artist, Diane Reeves.
For this concert, “The Flying Pisanos” will be joined by Paul Bollenback oh guitar and Tbmmy Cecil on bass. Bollenback is one of the brightest young stars on today’s jazz scene. In a field crowded with stellar performers, Paul stands out for his versatility as a guitarist, composer and arranger.
He has performed with the Pisanos on other occasions including the Smithsonian’s Blue Guitar Concert senes, and John Pisano’s' Los Angeles Guitar Festival.
Washington, D.C.’s own Tbmmy Cecil is a renowned bassist whose reputation for musical elegance has made him one of the most soughtafter musicians in the world.
Arrangements are being made for this concert to be broadcast live over the Internet by TV on the Web and PSINet.
Other jazz concerts at the Theatre at Washington have been sell outs, so that early reservations are recommended. Tickets for the performance on Saturday, May 8 at 8 p.m. are $14 with reservation, $15 at the door (if available). Tickets for students 18 and under are half price. Seating is reserved.
