instead of being full of quail and grouse as in the 1960’s, our landscape today is full of deer which seem to eat up the bird cover.

If DGIF really wants to “bring back the quail,” I suggest that the first thing you should do is make the entire deer season either-sex, with three does allowed on the regular license. Second, you should conduct extensive research on the relationship (if any) between air pollution and lack of certain ground nesting species (is it true, as I have heard, that quail populations have not declined in states west of the Ohio Basin?)
