The coach’s mother, who has never missed one of her son’s games, has her own philosophy. “After a win, I wear the same pants I had on to the rest of the games and I keep a penny in my shoe, and pray,” said Mrs. Dawson. “Dad watches the first half and then he stays in the cafeteria and listens for the second. We’re 15-4 so our superstitions must be working!”

In the game against Manassas Park, the Panthers were credited with 22 assists, seven by Pops Aylor and six by Myers. They managed 17 steals and yanked down 50 rebounds with Leake leading the way with 19 and Dunn grabbing seven.

Rams Slip By

“We played well but they played better,” said coach Dawson after the Panthers lost 67-66 to the Strasburg Rams at home last Friday.
