Photo Session
The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community will sponsor a photography workshop on Saturday, March 12, from noon to 4:30 at Spectra School in Flint Hill.
Tim Kilby, a native of Rappahannock who graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology and received a National Endowment for the Arts award, will lead Hie workshop.
The theme of the afternoon session will be “seeing photographically.” Participants will explore the idea that equipment and film choices play a minor role in the success or failure of a photograph to communicate. The workshop will stress the importance of visual selection. Through slides and prints, Kilby will review the guiding principles of lighting and composition. By analyzing photographs, the participants will get a different perspective on their own photographs and those of others.
