Mrs. Scott’s achievements in the world of horses are almost as legendary as her determination to win in the face of a challenge, and to have things done the way she saw fit. One of the most impressive of these accomplishments, and perhaps one of the best remembered, is the victory of her little (15.2 hand) horse Battleship in the 1938 Grand National Steeplechase at Aintree, England.
