hands. Don foxhunted Cinzano with the Piedmont Fox Hounds and in the spring of 1980 he debuted him over hurdles at the Piedmont meet, in the name of. David Denise of New Jersey. Not surprisingly he jumped like a green horse, finishing far back. In his next start, however, later in the spring at Oatlands, he was an easy winner under William Martin.
In December of that same year Randy Rouse purchased Cinzano, and the one time ringer ' served as the Master’s mount for the remainder of the hunting season. Then in the spring of 1981 Cinzano won four timber races for his new owner, all with ridiculous ease. In 1982 he continued his unbeaten streak over timber, adding five more wins, and the Seven Comers crown for Randy two years in a row. 1982 also saw him capture Horse of the Year honors on the Virginia circuit.
Randy has made efforts to have Cinzano reinstated for recognized racing. He argues, quite . logically, that the courts of law " have substantiated that Cinzano - is indeed Cinzano, and that a ' horse should not be punished for _ the ruthless acts of man.
