Eastham Opposed
Smith’s comments prompted the first of several angry outbursts from Eastham. “This is no place to discuss capital outlay,” Eastham said.
“Mr. Eastham, the expense of costing out this project will have to be reflected in this year’s budget if we decided to do it,” Chairman Beverly Massie said. “Please proceed, Mr. Smith.”
“Why not say let’s hire an architect...why not come out and say it," said Eastham, his voice rising. “We went through all this last fall...that’s not why I came here.. .this has no place here.”
Charles Eldred spoke also to address the issue of the high school building program.
