I tried to get back on and succeeded with effort and not just a little pain. Lily was still in high gear. I remembered a cliche along the lines of “I’d rather be a live coward than a dead hero” and promptly dismounted.

After all, the final fence offered additional real estate possibilities with an audience to boot.
