enough for the 100-mile endurance ride. I hoped I was good for five!

We headed right through a small field toward another split rail fence (a drop if only slight) that would land us onto a dirt road, through a small apple orchard for a dead-on approach to a narrow and slightly higher post and rail.

I was relaxing now and enjoying the ride. Moody was asking how I was. It was hard to hear him...being six lengths behind.

The going was easy over the drop, through the orchard, and over the post and rail, but then I started to clutch all over again. Across the field lay a small, narrow, up-hill coop of average height. It was tricky though, and I had been warned about it when I walked the course. The approach had been very muddy and after several pairs had been over it, I could expect it to be far worse.

On arrival I looked and mentally thanked Sally Cunningham or whoever it was that had filled in the muddy rut with gravel and fresh, dry dirt.
