The posted speed limit on Route 729 between Ben Venue and Flint Hill will stay at 55 miles per hour, resident highway engineer Don Askew announced at Monday’s board meeting, denying a request from the supervisors and landowners along the stretch to lower that limit.
“If you’re doing much over 30, 35 miles per hour, you would be driving recklessly and should be cited so (by police) if you have an accident,” Askew said.
