Adams says Phyllis Hibl is a natural successor because she keeps what practically amounts to a whole 4-H club at her Amissville home—11 children, eight of her own and “three borrowed” and half a dozen goats. Two of her children were officers last year: president Katie Hibl and vice president Chip Hibl.
Hible says it’s her first time as a 4-H leader but as one of the three main mothers involved with the goat club, she decided it was “my turn to take over.”
“They’re both so busy” she said of past leaders Joyce Adams and Linda Holt.
Judging by her enthusiastic plans, Hibl should be pretty busjr during the coming year. “It should be a lot of fun this year,” she says. She plans for new project books with photographs and the story of the club’s monthly progress with the usual required record book which she calls “a little dry” as a companion piece.
