Johnson Speaks
On History
Culpeper Minute Men Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will hear Mrs. C.E. Johnson, Jr., of Sperryville, speak on the early history of Rappahannock County when the Chapter members meet in the Rappahannock County Historical Building in Washington on Tuesday, October 11, at 2 p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Johnson, Jr., have recently published a book entitled “Rappahannock County, Virginia, History”. Hostesses for this meeting are Mrs. George W. Bain and Mrs. C.E. Johnson, Jr.
Rappahannock County is observing its 150th anniversary this year. The topic discussed by Mrs. Johnson was selected for this DAR meeting in keeping with this 150 anniversary.
Members of the Rappahannock Historical Society will be present to welcome the Chapter members and to explain records and other exhibits on display.
Rescue Meeting
The Sperryville Rescue Squad members will meet on Tuesday, October 11 at 8 p.m. at the Squad building for their regular monthly meeting.
Members were asked to note that due to a conflict of interest the meeting has been changed to Tuesday for the month of October. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.
