But in the meantime, Massie suggested a moratorium on changing bus routes for this year.
Paul Nicholas agreed that an annual update w ould be a good idea with any changes well publicized. He suggested keeping the present policy, but reviewing routes involving kindergarten and first grade pupils on a case by case basis.
School superintendent Robert Kstabrook pointed out that such reviews must not appear "arbitrary". The board must use "consistent criteria," he said, such as possible danger, the age of the child and whether he or she is an only child.
The board agreed, however, that it would be wary of making any more changes this year.
