Miss Amanda Rae Magee became the bride of John F. Hitt Jr. in a double ring ceremony at 7 o’clock Aug. 20 at the Amissville Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Magee of Amissville, and Mr. and Mrs. John F. Hitt, also of Amissville, are the parents of the groom.

Rev. Joseph Stirman, pastor, performed the ceremony before a candlelit altar decorated with white mums and green ferns.

The traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Wanda Heflin, the groom’s cousin.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a formal gown of white polyester with Chantilly lace and a fingertip veil trimmed with matching lace. Her cascade bouquet was of white roses, mums and baby’s breath, with lace streamers.
