This fall the 21 member board began meeting to plan a school education program that president Steve Scoggin says he hopes to see started in the spring.
The unit plans to establish a cardiovascular health center offering exhibits, films, speakers and pamphlets to schools and civic groups. Scoggin says the pamphlets will be included in packets available from Richmond geared toward individual grade levels from kindergarten through 12th grade. He suggested heart awareness curriculm could be included in health or home economics classes to name just two examples.
