Spencer volunteered to bring the problem to the attention of the contractor for the paving work. “There shouldn't be any bad puddling areas, at least nothing larger than your hand.”

Leaving the asphalt problem behind, Spencer told the supervisors that the change orders approved at Monday’s meeting up the contract price for the jail renovation from around $118,000 to $130,603. “That leaves $26,378 that you can add and still be reimbursed for half,” the architect said, referring to the $103,000 total approved—half county share and half statt—by the legislature and Department of Corrections for the renovation project.
