“The history of these routes,” he said, “has been that it’s not hard to add, but it’s very hard to subtract.”
Campbell has been inspecting routes on an individual basis as parents have requested changes. Largely he has stuck by the policy that an elementary school pupil may be allowed to walk up to V- mile to meet a bus and a high school student may walk one mile. Campbell said the school has received 25-50 phone calls so far from parents wanting the buses to come closer to their homes. He refused most of those requests.
