“The Little Red School House” is the Flint Hill home of a former New Jersey banker, Frank S. Gannon, and his wife. Breezy.
For all those who have dreamed of one day converting a little school house into their own home, this will be a highlight of this year’s house tour. It was a case of love at first sight when, several years ago, the Gannons first saw this little school house that was being remodeled and then heard the story of how it was once a tiny one room building called the Lottie School. Originally built in 1899, it was abandoned as a school in the 1920s.
Its records have disappeared but the little oneroom school lives on in the Gannon’s attractive conversion that features the original classroom with its 12foot ceiling, wood paneling and eight-foot windows. A tiny guest bedroom above
