The Rappahannock RoughRide is a major fund raiser for the Rappahannock and Fauquier Free Clinic and will be held this year on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m.
The sixth annual RoughRide will feature five courses ranging from 12 miles to 60 miles. Pre-registered fee is $18 for adults and $15 for children under J.2, postmarked no later than Sept. 13. Ride day registration fee is $20. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. on the morning of the ride at the Trinity Episcopal Church.
The first 350 registered bikers will receive a RoughRide T-shirt and every cyclist who registers will be eligible to win one of several donated prizes: dinner for two at the Inn at Little Washington or Four & Twenty Blackbirds, a $25 gift certificate from the Country Cafe, or lunch for two at Rae's Place and Deli.
So far over 100 cyclists have registered. Registration forms are displayed at various locations around the county.
All proceeds will benefit the County’s Free Clinic. The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a satellite office of the Fauquier Free Clinic, opened its doors on Jan. 17, 2001 at the Rappahannock Health Department in Washington.
