With the passing of the Labor Day holiday weekend, it’s evident to the students and teachers that it’s time to buckle down and accept the cold, hard facts: summer’s over! Finalizing schedule glitches, wearing long khaki pants and plaid skirts, the students at WCDS are settling in for another year. I, for one, am glad to get back into the routine. I miss the faces and laughter of the children who attend this school when they leave tor the summer.
We speak often of our school feeling like “one big, extended family”, and it couldn’t appear more true on the first day of school. It looks like a family reunion, complete with hugs and kisses < no cheek pinching, though!). Thanks for coming back!
• WCDS has a few new faces this year, and with their combined years of experience, they’re already part of the clan. They are: Mrs. Christine Chatelain, Third Grade; Mrs. Lori Perry, Fourth Grade; Ms. Karen Olsson, Sixth Grade; Ms. Jessica Andrade, English; Mr. Douglas Weaver, History; Mrs. Julie Lurie, English; Ms. Erica Sturtevant, English; Mrs. Marcy Lauben, Art; Ms. Maryann Sullivan, Latin; Mr. Louis Masset, Latin; Mrs. Lisa Ramey, Librarian; and Mrs. Lori Richmond, First Grade Assistant.
The growth in the classrooms has also meant additional classes being added, and this summer was busy for the housekeeping crew as they moved classrooms around to accommodate the new classes. As an aside, many heartfelt thanks go out to the volunteers from our
