SfiadamS'Tall This time of year, the ‘changing’ times when the summer stage’s final curtain falls gently on the last pleas within the garden walls the longer shadows languish in the fragrance of the mums and the slanting sun bathes the ripened, purpled plums, turning hearts and minds to pumpkins and rhymes and the coming crisp days of hand woven shawls. Lazy bees from left over heat, recovered and energized from the morning cool revel in the blue of a brilliant morning glory jewel mingle in the breezes that caress September days, and harmonize with cicada’s droning, melodic phrase. This forthcoming harvest of waiting wheat will tell tales of drought and summer so cruel. The coolness comes quickly as the shadows fall, The earth no longer bathed in evening’s long summer light; the dark encroaches quickly, no lingering in sight. The starlight replaces the summer’s long sunset’s glory with a visible Milky Way, and the whole heaven’s inventory. So ... summer is over, but then after all Autumn’s full palette is such a delight!
