The community was very saddened to hear of the death of Miss Mary Miller Wood. She passed away at her home in Harris Hollow on Saturday, Aug. 31.

Miss Wood was a teacher for over 42 years in Rappahannock Public Schools. She transported several children from the Sunnyside Farm area to school on a daily basis.

Miss Wood was also very active in the Washington Baptist Church. She joined the church on March 25, 1930 and remained faithful.

She will be greatly missed by her friends and relatives. Our condolences to her family.

Labor Day weekend guests of Mrs. Jean B. Moffett and Frank Moffett were Mr. and Mrs. Page Moffett and son, Richard of Leesburg, Sally Page Moffett of University of Virginia in Charlottesville and Billy Moffett of Harrisonburg.
