• Bob Lander, President of the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (RLEPt, presented the Board with copies of the brochure, “Living with Your Land in Rappahannock County.” This brochure, prepared by Don Audette and Pam Owen, is designed to advise potential County residents about the differences of life in Rappahannock’s rural environment, the limitations on services here, and the extraordinary need to respect the natural environment and its inhabitants. The brochure will be available at the County Administrator’s Office and other County locations.
• Janet Davis, representing the new “Rappahannock Friends & Lovers of Our Watersheds” (RappFLOW), asked that the Board of Supervisors agree to serve as fiscal agent for the organization’s grant request to the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation. RappFLOW is seeking a $7200 grant to support the Chesapeake Bay 2000 Agreement by educating and informing “the community about the various impacts to the watershed.” Mr. McCarthy said that he would be doing most of the work required of the County as fiscal agent and
