U-10 Boys
Rapp l’s U-10 team played Culpeper 1 with Coach Ibny Caporuscio guiding them to a 3-1 win. Logan McKeieman scored 1 goal, Patrick Lysaught scored 2 goals and Michael Caporuscio stepped in as goalie.
Rappahannock “Thunder” coached by Carl Letsen won 2 to 0 in a very close-game. Henry Miller and Taynon Lee scored for the team.
All though the team won they still have a lot of work to do.
U-12 Girls
The U12 girls were outplayed 6-0 by a talented Fauquier team. Caroline Massie played a great game at fullback, winning numerous balls and clearing the ball upfield. Megan Wheatley stopped seventeen shots on goal in the first half while Lily Day showed a lot of talent at midfield. The Rappahannock players showed grit and never gave up but couldn’t overcome the superior skills and experience of the Fauquier team.
U-12 Boys
Despite the last minute cancellation of Bon Jovi, opening day for RSL provided plenty of excitement as the U12 Coed team squared off against Culpeper’s finest footballers. *
Led by a record 4 goals from Gary White, the Rappahannock team exploded into league dominance with a 11-4 victory.
Dean Hogan, Austin Burdick, Joey Wenk and Gavin Forest all added goals and brilliant assists while B.J. Dodson arid Michael Landrum provided an impenetrable midfield juggernaut.
U-18
The U18 opened season against Orange. With new goals and a newly laid out field, Rapp got off to a good start with striker Juan Tisera scoring unassisted in the 12th minute.
Rapp maintained good pressure and dictated play much of the first half.
The tally stood and it was 1-0 at the half.
In the second half, Rapp had a difficult time mounting much offense and necessary defense which the score now was 4 -1.
Matt Lawrey was able to score a nice goal to make final score of Orange 4 - Rapp 2.
