the bank as a cashier, was the sixth president from 1969-1982, and again a fanner. With his fedora hat and ever present cigar, he was a familiar sight at the county courthouse across the street from the bank. It was there and in other county office buildings he wpuld tell wonderful tales of Rappahannock and Washington history to eager listeners.
