Senior fund raiser set
Jean Lillard will be participating in the annual Rappahannock RoughRide on Saturday, Sept. 21 and area residents are encouraged to support Ms. Lillard with a donation or a pledge as she rides the 12-mile course. Garden Club to meet
The Rappahannock County Garden Club will hold its next meeting on Wednesday Sept. 18, at 1:30 p.m., at the Washington Fire Hall. Meetings are usually held on the third Wednesday of each month, and people interested in gardening, horticulture and flower arranging are welcome to attend. This month Holly Green will present a program about landscaping with water features entitled “Adding Water to the Garden.” RSVP to Mary Revercomb, 987-8489, if you plan to attend.
Al Anon meeting scheduled
Al Anon meetings are currently scheduled for every Thursday evening at 8:30 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church. AA meetings are also scheduled for the same time. For additional information call Gary at 987-7278.
4-H Shooting Club to meet
The Rappahannock County 4-H Shooting Education Club will have their first meeting of the 2002-2003 year on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. at the home of adult volunteer leader Stan Dye. Call Mr. Dye for directions at 937-5698.
Plant propagation workshop
Would you like to be able to grow your own flowers, herbs and vegetables more professionally and easily? This workshop, for beginning and experienced gardeners, will show you many interesting plant propagation techniques: seed starting in containers, soil blocks and outdoor seedbeds; pre-germination treatment of seeds; making your own soil mixes; rooting cuttings without chemicals; layering; plus information on lights, heat mats, seed frames and other accessories, and more.

Family reunion planned
