Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Nazareth Baptist Church in Boston with Rev. Howard R. Frye officiating.
Interment followed at Nazareth Baptist Church Cemetery with honors provided by the Culpeper American Legion Post #330 and the Culpeper V.F.W. Post #2524.

Arthur Henry Gales, 76, of Winchester died Tuesday, Sept. 3 at Winchester Medical Center.
Services were conducted Saturday, Sept. 7 at Zion Baptist Church in Berryville by the Rev. Delbert Hicks. Burial with military honors by VFW 2123 was held at the Charles Jackson Community Cemetery in White Post.
Mr. Gales was bom Oct. 3, 1925 in Amissville, son of the late Herman and Fannie Ibgans Gales. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Double Day Company in Berryville.
He was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Berryville, serving as a trustee and deacon, member of the Senior Choir, Brotherhood Choir, Gospel Tones, Men’s Choir, Gales Family Gospel Group and Missionary Society.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Doleman Gales; two daughters, Kim Laveme Hunter of Martinsburg, W.Va. and Joyce Gibson of Hagerstown, Md.; two sons, Arthur Ricardo Gales and Anthony Wayne Gales, both of Martinsburg; a sister, Lucille Virginia Long of Winchester; a brother, Edgar Roy Jr. of Washington, D.C.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester was in charge of the arrangements.
