Program is in full swing, and parents are on the receiving end, with artwork from their children already in progress. With instruction from Mrs. Marcy Lauben, the students are learning the methods of drawing in five simple elements of shape. It’s exciting to see what each child is capable of doing, even after a few lessons. The children are enthusiastic, too.
Even the ones who didn’t think that they had any ability are amazed to draw recognizable pictures. The methods are calming and instructive, and we are so very excited to be able to offer this to our children. The Spring Art Show should be amazing; please come and see what all the fuss is about!
• Plans are well underway for the WCDS Annual Golf Tournament, to be held Sept. 27 at the Virginia Oaks Golf Club in Gainesville. Set for a Friday, it’s a great way to wind down the workweek, while helping to support Wakefield Country Day School. Registration begins at noon, with a box lunch provided. The Shotgun Start begins at 1 p.m. Open to Friends of Wakefield and businesses in the surrounding area, the Golf Tournament provides a perfect, relaxing atmosphere to network, improve your golf game, and clear the cobwebs.
