School News
Hearthstone School welcomed students back to class on Tuesday, September 5. The first day back to school was a day for transition from summer vacation.
Students created skits, wrote dialog and created props, for an all-school performance in the afternoon. The regular class schedule commenced on Wednesday, Sept. 6.
Hearthstone is pleased to welcome two new teachers to the school.
Mary Ragsdale joined Hearthstone as its new first grade teacher. Ragsdale received her Bachelors degree from Shenandoah University, and was previously a substitute teacher for several years in the Page County Public School System.
This past summer, Ragsdale received training in the Waldorf method of education at Sunbridge College in New York.
Tamara Hager joined Hearthstone School as the High School Science Teacher. Hager received her Bachelor of Arts from George Mason University.
She previously worked as a Resource Assistant and Naturalist for the Arlington County Public School System, where she was responsible for creating and implementing science programs suited to different grade levels.
