September 18: RLEP Board of Directors Meeting

The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection Board of Directors meets at the library, with social time at 7 PM and business meeting at 7:30. The proposed spreading of sewage sludge on Rappahannock County farmland will be discussed. Plans for a Piedmont Supervisor Candidates’ Forum, plans for the showing of “An Inconvenient Truth,” and plans for the RLEP Annual Fall Members and Friends Meeting will be discussed, among other issues. September 19: Volunteers Protecting Local Public Health

The RRMRC is a group of volunteers who are prepared to respond in the case of a natural disaster or public health emergency in the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock.

An orientation for new volunteers will be offered on Tuesday, September 19 from 6 -7:30 p. m. The orientation gives the new volunteers an overview of the Medical Reserve Corps, the Virginia Department of Health, the Incident Command System, the Strategic National Stockpile, and Dispensing Site Operations. Biological agents training will be offered on September 19 from 7:309 p.m. Registration is required. All trainings will be held in Culpeper.
