Gillis, who filled water glasses and bussed tables for the event, was inspired by the aim of Headwaters.
“I was filling water glasses, and they said they needed someone to get it started. It’s great for the kids,” said Gillis.
“Every single thing is volunteer, and that allows us to raise a lot of money” said Johnson.
The money brought to Headwaters through those donations will go to Headwaters programs like , the Farm-to-Table program, Summer Enrichment Workshops for children the Starfish Mentoring Program, and even as individual minigrants for local teachers.
“I think it’s wonderful. It’s a cause that you know is good,” said Esther Schmidt, attending the event for the first time.
