That race will serve as a stepping stone to better stakes races in the fall.
Discreet Cat is currently being pointed for the Jerdtne mile at Belmont Park, but if is connections are smart, they might try him at a longer distance. He won the U.A.E. Derby by six at a mile and an eighth, defeating Invasor (Invasor’s only defeat ever). I see nothing to suggest he can’t get a mile and a quarter. The Breeder’s Cup Classic calls, and with talent like his, he might be able to compete with the likes of Bemardini and Lava Man.
As we wait for the fall campaign, we can only hope that the potential stars stay healthy and realize their full potential in a fantastic running of the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
