organizing a “food court” and hospitality tent. Cliff Miller has graciously volunteered the parking lot outside the soon-to-open Sperryville Grill (formerly Burger Bam at the Schoolhouse) as the location for the tent. Tb date, participating businesses include Thornton River Grille, Sperryville Grill, Apple Hill Bakery, Central Coffee Roasters, and Village Fruit and Crafts (apples and preserves).

Hot lunches will be offered at a very reasonable price and an invitation has been extended to local musicians who may wish to provide background entertainment at the tent.

The Studio & Gallery Tbur will be held on November 4 and 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

A suggested $10 donation per person will be used to support RAAC’s community arts-related programs. Fifteen open studios will present a unique opportunity to experience Rappahannock’s artists in a creative environment. Many of the artists have invited other local artists to join them in their home studios, creating “minifestivals” at a number of locations.

A hard-working volunteer committee co-chaired by RAAC Board Members Joanne Hilty and Robert Ballard has been working for months, planning the many, complex aspects of the weekend, including everything from the initial artist registration, to the design of the fire hall, creation of maps, promotional postcards and posters, much-needed directional signs, and so many behind-the-scenes details to ensure a professional and smoothrunning weekend.

Joanie Ballard is serving as fire hall Artists Tbur director. Committee members include Jeanne Drevas, Cory Caulfield, and Nancy Keyser. Laura Overstreet and Betsy Hille are publicity co-chairs, working with Claudia Mitchell on promotion. A special Artists of Rappahannock section on www.RAAC.org has been created by
