Finally, I need to mention that there are two propane cannons within three-quarters of a mile from my home; both have been put into operation in just the last three years. I can hear both, but am only bothered by the one. Some of my neighbors however are right in the middle of both and are bothered by both.
Some of these neighbors have also complained, like I did, and have been told essentially the same thing: “This is within the limits of the law. We are sorry but you have to learn to live with this.”
Also, for anyone who might think I am just another whining city dweller, I am not. I was born and raised in the county and love rural living. I absolutely love living in Rappahannock County and embrace this lifestyle. I do not want to hurt farmers or their business -1 just want to be able to co-exist, to be able to enjoy my property within reason and be able to sleep at night.
Note: Because this blasting is occurring on land that is zoned agricultural, there is no noise ordinance to be enforced.
