Yovanovich, himself a former show ring rider and ‘R’ horse show judge, before becoming a champion amateur jockey, is one of Virginia’s best-recognized trainers. Yovanovich has made a minor career out of bringing along young riders in the ’chase world, nurturing riding talent and teaching racing strategy, saddle smarts and timing.
