Shona Terrill, Hearthstone’s Second Grade Teacher, was also able to attend Waldorf training this past summer at Sunbridge College in New York.
Hearthstone’s first fundraiser of the year is now underway. Orders will be taken for beautiful fall bulbs from the Dutch company Van Bourgoundien, until October 13.
This company, founded in 1983, provides top quality bulbs and offers a fundraising program for schools, which keep 50 percent of all sales. Please call the school office at 540-987-9212 if you would like to purchase bulbs for your garden.
Hearthstone will holds is Annual Fairy Tale Walk on Friday, October 27.
This is a magical and wellloved event for children, as fairy tales are reenacted by Hearthstone parents, students and teachers. All members of the community are invited to attend.
Special Education Advisory Committee
On Thursday, September 28, at 3:45 p.m. at the high school library, we will hold the first meeting of the 2006-07 school year for the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC).
This was formerly known as the Local Advisory Committee (LAC). Present Committee members include Marsha Thompson, Marrieta Verrill, Karen Alexander, Sherry Hamill-Huff, Edith Clark, Linda Clark, Janet Jenkins, Elizabeth Lee-Harris, Jennings Hobson, Ester Settle, Katie Massie, Fran Krebser and Nancy Reeve.
