E.J. was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Betty J. Timbers; his uncle, Douglas Alan Settle, and paternal grandfather, Pedro Andino.
Funeral services were held September 13 at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery, with full military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
