The contest remained scoreless for the better portion of the first half before the Eagles found the end zone in the final three minutes of the half.
On fourth-and-11 from the Panthers 12-yard line, quarterback Zach Shiley avoided two pass rushers and then raced down the left side of the field for a 12 yard touchdown run to give the Eagles a 7-0 halftime lead.
The score remained that way until the fourth quarter. On the first play of the fourth quarter, Shiley’s identical twin brother, Sam, burst through the middle of the Panthers defense for a 12yard touchdown run of his own to make it 14-0.
On Rappahannock County’s ensuing possession, Butler connected with Williams on a 20yard pass on the first play from scrimmage. But when being pulled to the ground, the ball popped loose and into the hands of an Eagles defender.
Three plays later, Sam Shiley found the end zone again, this time darting in for a 10-yard score.
The Shiley brothers helped put the game away later in the fourth quarter as they led the Eagles on a 70-yard drive. Sam Shiley carried three times for 29 yards on the drive, before Zach Shiley delivered a 41-yard scoring strike to wide out Chase Hardesty to make it 26-0 with 5:37 remaining.
The Panthers avoided being shutout for the first time all season on the ensuing play.
