The one filly out of Highland Mills that didn’t win was Kristi B — darned if she’s not the dam of Bit of Whimsy.
Kristi has quite the story, too.
She breezed at Saratoga one day, and took a bad step, fracturing a hind leg. The surgeon said that he couldn’t operate on her, and instead, he placed a cast on her leg, while the filly stood quietly looking out of her stall.
