Pops Walker of Luray and Brooke Parkhust of Flint Hill will entertain acoustic music tans in a concert at the Theatre in Washington on Saturday; Now. 3 at 8 p.m. The concert will benefit Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Pops has been entertaining tans for some 20 years. He’s performed in various venues around the world. While up-tempo blues is his favorite style, it’s only part of his repertoire. Listening to any of his recordings, one can hear bits of folk, jazz, country, and a tidy little genre called Southern Fried Zen Mojo, a phrase coined just for him. Brooke Parkhurst is Washington Area Music Award Winning (WAMMIE) artist. She is an accomplished singer, vibrant banjo player and performer. Influences as diverse as Peter, Paul end Mary, October Project Silly Wizard, and Joe Jackson mark her style. Brooke will be accompanied by WAMMIE-winnmg guitar and mandolin virtuoso, Avril Smith. The city of Winchester was impacted by the Civil War by battles fought in the city and its surrounding area Jonathan A. Noyalas, adjunct history instructor at Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) and director of the College's Center for Civil War History will explore the Second Battle of Winchester dunng a one-day seminar on Saturday Nov. 3, from 9 am. to 4 p.m. This is the first time LFCC has offered a seminar focusing on the Second Battle of Winchester.

This yea's event which benefits the 4-H Livestock Club features the music erf Dark Hollow and Debbie Zhm and Natural Grass.
