Sitting around a campfire and sharing good stories among friends is reminiscent of what to expect as Ki Theatre launches its new season on Saturday, Oct.. 27.
Now in its Ninth Annual performance, “No Ordinary Person,” showcases four of Rappahannock County’s most notable citizens who come to the stage to tell personal stories that are sometimes funny, sometimes sad, and always fascinating.
“No Ordinary Person” has become a signature production of Ki Theatre over the years, thanks to the creative influence of Ki Theatre’s artistic director, Julie Portman, and the show’s long-time director Joyce Abell. After taking Portman’s “Life Stories Workshops,” Joyce Abell directed her first “No Ordinary Person” nine years ago with other graduates of the courses, weaving stories from their lives into interesting and touching vignettes. Each year the popularity of this show has increased and is always a sold-out performance.
This year’s production of “No Ordinary Person” brings together four captivating narratives that will entertain and please the most discerning theatre goers. In brief outline, not to give away their stories, these are the autobiographical tales that will be told:
